I think he did make some music with her on the lovesexy album.
His record company owned his name 'Prince' so when he wanted to bring out music they didn't approve of he wasn't allowed to legally under his own name! How nasty is that?!
He appeared in public with 'slave' written on his face because he felt like a slave because he was owned.
This is why he changed his name to 'the artist formerly known as Prince'and the sign for his name was a squiggle thingy.
Lots of fans didn't understand what was going on with the name change and... I dunno, he hasn't been as popular.
I think he is the king of pop because he has influenced so many of the up and coming pop stars, I often here something and think..'is that Prince?' Justin Tiberlake for one.

True, first Elvis then Jacko. I think it's a different world now - (legal and illegal) downloading rather than buying has changed the face of music and I don't think we'll be seeing such superstars again. The candidates for Queen would seem to be Britney, Madonna and Kylie but they are all sliding down the back side of their careers now. Maybe Lily Allen in a few years more?

I don't really know. I don't think that people 'worship' artists like they used to. When I was younger MJ was HUGE and people queued up for hours to get his CDs. Now I wonder into HMV and preorder a copy of any upcoming CD and sit back and wait patiently.
We are in a time where we want things now and I think that has changed the way that musicians are seen. One night Madonna could be 'queen of pop' and the next day she is trash.
The true kings/queens of pop are the people that have stood the test of time.
The only musician that I am excited about or admire at the moment is John Mayer. He is exetremely talented and I love his music.
I think Elvis was the King of rock and roll. Prince is the king of pop.
I don't know who is the queen of pop, possibly Madonna?
