Some people prefer their nails square but I prefer them longer and rounded. It's whatever you prefer, just file the edges so they're smooth and decided which way you like the look of hun xx

Tips from a manicurist (me!) you can file them whatever shape you like of course, just make sure you file in one direction as filing back and forth encourages breakage. Make sure you moisturise your hands and rub the cream into the cuticles regularly. Wearing gloves is great for protecting them, if you're wearing nail varnish any exposure to water or chemicals is what wears it and causes chipping so make sure you have gloves on for washing up and cleaning too. Using base coat and top coat is pretty important for keeping the colour and your nails in top condition, also thouroughly clean and dry your nails before applying polish as any sort of residue will stop the polish staying on well. then go for any colour you fancy, darker colours are more popular in autumn xx

well nail varnish is pretty exciting so thats justified
You get different top coat and base coats but you can technically use a clear base coat as top coat as well, but not the other way around as colour polish doesnt stick properly to top coat it slides off.

I personaly love the metalic colours, specialy silver which i have on now.
If your not used to going outside with your nails done though Elisa, maybe try some pastal shades first, build up your confidence then go for the bolds and brights when your ready.
I once bought some of those lovely stick on shiny nail jewels, looked great till i went to the loo, pulled my knickers and tights down and the nail jewels got caught in my lacy knickers and fishnet tights. Pulled my nail varnish completly off and had to spend the rest of the night with only some of my nails painted and some with missing jewels. Was funny explaining it to my friends though.
Lesson to be learnt, stick to stockings, leave the knickers at home and apply a top coat to my nails to keep the jewels in place. -

A little tip for you if you are growing your nails.
Buy yourself a cocktail ring, it doesn't have to be expensive.
you will love how it looks on your fingers with long nails, you can even paint your nails to match the stone in the ring.
Good luck
